RIYP GENERAL BODY MEETING
RIYP will host its next General Body Meeting on Thursday, April 3 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the offices of New York Life, located in the Charles Orms Building, 10 Orms Street, Suite 410, Providence. There is free parking available on the side of the building after 5 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

SUMMER ELEGANZA COMMITTEE MEETING
Picture the Winter Soiree in July, with more people, all dressed in white, at a glamorous venue and you’ve got the idea for RIYP’s Summer Eleganza. The planning committee for the event will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 25 at 6 p.m. at 199 Camp St. Anyone interested in helping plan the event is welcome to attend. RIYP invites you to join us for our “Rewind Wednesdays” Networking Mixer on April 9, 2008 at Blaze Restaurant, 272 Thayer St., Providence, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Come network and socialize with the Rhode Island Young Professionals, and the brothers of the Alumni Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. METROPOLITAN BOARD 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
April 11 -13 marks the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League. The theme for the milestone anniversary is “A Quarter Century Strong: Impacting Generations through Leadership and Service.” The celebration will include a kickoff event on April 11, a Benefit Concert on April 12, and a Presidents’ Brunch on April 13. The Black Rep is looking to fill three positions. Two seven week positions — Sound Session Youth Masquerade Camp Coordinator/Instructor and Sound Session Masquerade Camp Production Manager — are open, as well as a full time Director of Public Programs position. RIYP BOOK CLUB
RIYP will be reviving the Book Club and is asking all who are interested in joining to begin reading the first book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.” Details about meetings and future books will be forthcoming.

OPEN AUDITIONS FOR OTHELLO
Luna Theatre is looking to cast supporting roles and understudies for its fall production of Othello. Auditions will be held at Knight Memorial Library, 275 Elmwood Ave., Providence on Saturday, March 29 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Interested adults and young adults should come prepared with a 1 to 2 minute Shakespearean monologue. SUMMER OPPORTUNITY FAIR AT THE MET SCHOOL
The Met High School hosts a Summer Opportunity Fair each year in hopes of students with first hand connections as well as provide organizations with students to help with summer programs and activities. This year’s fair will take place on Wednesday, April 23rd from 10:00- 2:00 and the school is asking any community organization that may need student employees, volunteers or attendees to come set up a table and advertise. The Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant is now looking for 2009 delegates. The application will be accepted from now until March 30. You can learn about the organization or pick up an application by visiting http://www.missblackusa.org.

LATINAS LEARNING TO LEAD
The Latinas Learning to Lead Summer Youth Institute’s main purpose is to train the next generation of Latina leaders. The Institute combines leadership training with technical and practical experience in a one-week comprehensive program in Washington, D.C from July 20-26, 2008.
