PROVIDENCE, RI - If you are looking to include Caribbean Vibes in you Labor Day weekend, check out the Providence Black Repertory Company on Sunday night, September 6 for the “Labor Day Reggae Bashment Inside The Black Rep.”

But what do I mean by Caribbean Vibes? Check out the video below produced by “DJ Blade Mon,” one of the “selecta’s” and mood-makers.

Blade Mon, or Corey Taylor, is also my partner and a co-producer of the Rhode 2 Africa (R2A) Video. Just as he accomplished with R2A, Taylor not only executes the responsibilities of highlighting a project or event, he also captures defining yet essential moments. In this case, besides telling viewers about a nightclub event, Taylor offers us a taste of the physical and musical showmanship that is the norm on Monday nights at Jerky’s Bar, Grill and Music Hall - the longest-running reggae night in Providence.

See Taylor’s other video work by clicking here to see the R2A Video, or here to visit his YouTube Page.

The Providence Black Rep is located at 276 Westminster Street while Jerky’s is located at 71 Richmond St - both in Providence, RI. To learn more about Blade Mon and to hear listings of other reggae events happening, listen to the Blade Connex Radio Show every Saturday from 11 am - 2 pm on WRIU (90.3 FM in and around RI) or check out www.wriu.org for a listing of other reggae shows the station airs.
